Private tutor in Lehigh Acres, FL
Education
Currently working on my second bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematics with a minor in Computer Science and Physics at Florida State University. I'm here in SWFL now for the Summer 2024 and for at least another year while working on getting an internship (and possibly transferring to FGCU, lot of things going on there). The point is, I have a lot of free time, and I'm really good at math and teaching math.
Experience
Math is, and will always be, my forte. I really enjoy logic, word problems, and the analytical thinking that goes into doing mathematics. While I was pursing my first bachelor's degree in biology at FGCU, I was always tutoring people in math. I had many friends and clients that really loved how I taught. I would take my time to find the gap in their knowledge and work our way up from there to figure out what we needed to find out. I focused on the understanding, instead of memorizing. In high school, I volunteered and assisted my math teacher for one year (tutored in class). Helped with math up through college-level Calculus II (dual enrollment). At the college level, I've taken everything up to Calculus III (Multivariable Calculus), Differential Equations, Linear Algebra I & II, Math Proofs, Discrete Mathematics I & II, Numerical Analysis, Mathematical Modeling, Mathematical Statistics (Probability Theory), General Physics I & II (calculus-based) w/Labs, and Modern Physics. Recently, I've been getting into Computer Science (CS). The CS courses I've taken are Intro to Programming in C++, Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) in C++, Data Structures and Algorithms in C++, Computer Organization and Design, Web Programming and Design, Theory and Structure of Databases, and Intro to Artificial Intelligence in Python. In my spare time, I like to try to watch math, computer science, and physics/science lectures to teach myself more advanced subjects, such as Advanced Calculus, Abstract Algebra, Complex Analysis, Topology, more advanced physics courses such as Classical Mechanics, Electromagnetism, Quantum Mechanics, Quantum Field Theory, Particle Physics, and anything related to Computer Science such as Operating Systems, Computer Networking, Computer Security, and Cloud Computing. I'm also in the process of building my own website to build my portfolio. I joined universitytutor.com many years ago, and have tutored over five great people who each achieved their respective goals and overcame the challenges they face with math and science. It puts a smile on my face when I know they truly understood what I just taught. Their good test scores and parents saying how much they appreciate my helping makes me know I'm doing my job right.

Hobbies
When I'm not working on my website or trying to learn some new math, I am usually at the gym working out or training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ). I'm a blue-belt in BJJ, and we value respect there. I like to maintain an active, healthy lifestyle. I'm a firm believer that proper nutrition and exercise are key elements to help maintain a strong, healthy body and mind. This way of living requires discipline and hard work. These principles do not just apply to exercise and diet, but also to life, in general. I like to think I lead by example and show students that hard work, continuous learning, and perseverance are paramount to a successful life. One of my favorite quotes is, "Success comes from curiosity, concentration, perseverance, and self-criticism" -Albert Einstein.
